Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works Well, until it doesn’t Pros: keeps coffee very hot, no burnt taste Cons: can not get moldy smell out of the water reservoir no matter how much I clean it. Have to place the carafe very carefully or else it overflows all over the counter. Carafe is hard to clean. The lid on the carafe has useless level indicators - they are obsolete after just a few pots of coffee. Also, the small ‘bobble’ on the lid is broken and lets heat escape. With all this said and perhaps the most frustrating, I would very much like to replace the reservoir and thermal carafe but can not find replacement parts anywhere! I feel like I’ve wasted money on this machine (and I don’t like that feeling!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome coffee maker!! I received this a week ago and it's now an integral part of my morning routine. It's so easy to use and sleek enough for my condo kitchen. It makes great coffee and I love the pause and serve feature which allows me to pour my cup first. I find the flavour of the coffee is better with the blooming technology compared to other coffee makers. The light bar technology is awesome and I love the stainless steel carafe, it keeps the coffee hot. I find this brews faster and hotter than my other coffee makers I've used in the past. The delayed timer also works great, especially during the week when I'm in a rush, it's so great to have the coffee ready to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for everyday use We've been using this coffee brewer for about 2 weeks now. The design is sleek and streamline and fits perfectly on our kitchen counter. The instructions for first time setup and use are very easy to read and follow. The water reservoir and coffee filter insert come out for easy cleaning and prep. The thermos itself is a little on the heavier side and the pour is a bit slow, however the delay brew setting makes up for this. Delay brew lets us prep the coffee and water the night before and we could set it to brew in the morning as we're waking up for work. It's definitely a time saver and huge convenience. Would definitely recommend to others.

Pros No heating element Easy to use Makes great coffee Keeps coffee hot for HOURS Brews very fast Cons You will need a brush to clean inside the carafe unless you have tiny hands. Can’t clean in the dishwasher. All in all, I really love my coffee maker. Not had a single issue with it yet and I use it twice a day and had it a month so far. It’s well made, the price is really good. I bought a cuisisnart before this one and returned it after a day. It was more expensive, cheaply made and only brewed once before not working properly. You won’t be disappointed with this one. I love it. Thanks Oster!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clean modern design and nice features First off, I will mention that the original coffeemaker I received had a defect that caused it to leak water. Not entirely sure where from or why, but Oster did quickly send a replacement. I am quite satisfied with the Optimal Brew coffee maker. It looks great in our kitchen with its stainless steel finish. It has a very modern look. It has some features that we personally don't use regularly (brew delay for instance), but worked well. The Brew Meter indicators are handy when you have company over, which is really the only time we'll normally use a 12-cup machine. The carafe keeps the coffee much warmer than a traditional glass or plastic carafe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent coffee maker Bought this coffee maker for the office two months ago and we all are glad I did. It brews a great cup of coffee and the thermos keeps the coffee hot for several hours. The delay feature is perfect, our coffee is ready when we walk in the door. My only negative comment is the feature on the thermos to see how much coffee is left. This is useless after a few weeks as the plastic gets stained dark brown/black and doesn't work. More importantly, I doubt the plastic used is BPA free and we fear toxins leaching into our coffee every morning. We've cut it off to protect ourselves. Other than this one useless feature, we are thrilled with our coffee maker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more burnt coffee! I have been using this product for over a week and my favorite thing is the thermal carafe! There is no burner on the bottom which means the coffee stays fresh and hot for a good 2 hours until the fresh brew timer beeps - letting me know my coffee is no longer fresh. I am the only coffee drinker in the house and before using this machine I was a make-one-cup at a time kinda gal, but this machine has renewed my trust in making pots of coffee again. Its strong points are: 1. it has a timer so you can wake up to your coffee 2. brews quickly 3. beeps when it's ready 4. keeps coffee hot and fresh for up to 2 hours 5. beeps when it's no longer fresh, which is also a great reminder to rinse the carafe. Overall I am a huge fan of this coffee maker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I prefer the older model I have the older model and have had it for years and absolutely love it so bought this one for my dad. The plastic indicators are a pain and after a couple of months when they are black, they don't work to see how much coffee is left. I suggest that you leave them out in the next model. My older version seems to be a better quality but is about 10 years old and still makes the hottest and fastest pot of coffee, however I think it is wearing out and I am looking for a new one so please, please - go back to the older version. My cup of coffee at 11:00 still tastes as good and is almost as hot as it is at 6:00.
