Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satified customer In 1967 we bought our 8 speed Ostizer Blender, the Galaxy 10. It has been in costant use for 49 years and we have only changed the blade once. However, the glass carafe developed a large crack around the top and we thought it was doomed. We bought two other blenders (not Oster), which we returned as unsatisfactory. We then went to The Bay to see if we could match our old carafe with the new models, as we were told by one of your representatives, it was obsolete. We were able to match a carafe up with our base, ordered it On-line and are thrilled to have our old/new blender back in operation again. Can you believe it, that your product had endured 49 years and is still working well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Environmentally Sustainable -- Oster Blender!! My stainless steel Oster blender was a wedding present--in 1965!! (So we both are getting old but we still work beautifully!) So imagine my dismay when I dropped and broke the glass jar. Now imagine my joy that a replacement was available, arrived promptly and beautifully wrapped, and that the base screwed right on with a perfect fit. What a joy that items of excellent quality can last a lifetime. THAT is environmentally sustainable! Kudos to Oster!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool blender It is a nice blender. It looks good and blends well. The copper is great and get the job done. I make shares every day and for the most part it gets the job done very well. It does have a little trouble with spinach. The only thing that I don't like is that the mouth is a bit small to fit things through. I also wish the bottle was bigger. It is perfect for a family of one or tow but I have to make two shakes for my family of four. The chopper is great for making salsa. I love the ability to make a shake and take it with me. The top is great and my daughter can drink out of it while we drive. I did receive this blender as a sample for my honest opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the original I was hesitant to buy this to replace the old 5-quart square jar that I broke. However, once I started using this one, I like it better. I think it blends more evenly, holds more, and pours more easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs great day after day I use my blender every morning to make a 6-cup+ "shake" with the HMR high-protein shake mix, about 6 ounces of water, a banana, at least three cups of frozen fruit, and ice cubes to thicken and chill it even more. It's a demanding job which my old blender couldn't handle for very long. Because this is an integral part of my HMR diet (on which I've lost 125 lbs), I was really upset when a scuffle between our two male cats resulted in the jar flying to the kitchen floor harder than even this tough glass could stand up to. Obviously, I'm under pressure to replace the jar ASAP, so I may find it faster to buy an entire new blender, which costs surprisingly little for an appliance of this quality.
